Millennium Marathon Corporate Wellness Forum has brought together corporate leaders, HR professionals and wellness experts in Accra to discuss the future of employee wellbeing and healthier workplaces in Ghana.
Held at The Mix in Osu on May 21, 2026, the forum focused on the growing importance of workplace wellness and its impact on productivity, mental health and corporate culture. The initiative forms part of the broader mission of the Millennium Marathon to promote active lifestyles, fitness and community development across the country.

Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Marathon, Cathy Morton, described corporate wellness as a critical business priority rather than an optional benefit.
According to her, the forum was created to equip organisations with practical strategies to improve employee wellbeing, reduce stress levels and enhance productivity in the workplace.
The event featured three panel discussions involving industry leaders and health professionals. The first panel explored how organisations can integrate wellness into corporate culture and featured Executive Director of Silver Star Tower, Salah Kalmoni; Deputy General Manager of Qualiplast Limited, Andrea Akl; and Head of Human Capital at Investcorp Ghana, Noalina Kuukua Slippi-Mensah.

The second discussion centred on work-life integration in the modern corporate environment. Speakers included CEO of Impact Life Insurance, Gideon Ataraire; CEO of MyHealthCop, Kwasi Tabury; and CEO of Equity Health Insurance, Dr Elton Fredrick Afari.
Running clubs and fitness advocates also joined the conversation during the third panel, which highlighted the role of running communities in promoting wellness. The discussion was led by Gigi Rose Mann and featured Ernest Bediako Sampong, Kevin Atikpui and runfluencer Abdul-Samed Shaibu.
Guest speakers at the forum included Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, and Programmes Manager of KGL Foundation, Nii Sarpei Annorbah Ankornu.

Participants engaged in expert-led sessions on physical fitness, nutrition, mental health and stress management, alongside interactive workshops and networking opportunities aimed at promoting healthier workplace environments.
Race Manager of Millennium Marathon, Ernest Boamah, noted that healthier employees contribute to stronger and more productive companies, adding that the forum provides businesses with an opportunity to learn and implement sustainable wellness programmes.
The organisers also launched a new initiative known as the “Health & Fitness Index,” an annual publication expected to rank organisations based on their commitment to employee health and workplace wellness.
Research highlighted during the forum showed that employees who exercise regularly record higher productivity and lower absenteeism rates, while stress and burnout continue to affect workplace efficiency in many organisations.
