Ghanaians will from the first of next month, start paying more for services rendered by the Telecos.
The Telecos including Airtel-Tigo, MTN and Vodafone, say cost of providing their services to the public has gone up, hence the decision.
According to the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, the tariff adjustment has also become necessary because of the implementation of new tax laws.
The Chief Executive of the  Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Kenneth Ashigbey, in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana said, “We will hold an engagement to discuss customer experience from the telecommunication sector and the various things that would improve and impact on.”
Meanwhile, a section of the public has expressed mixed reaction over the tariff adjustments.
“They have increased it and they haven’t increased our salary,” one lady said.
“I buy like GH¢5.00 a day and then if they should increase, that means I’m going to buy more. Not for more purpose but for same purpose,” another lady bemoaned.
