Tottenham Hotspur midfield Moussa Sissoko has signed a new four-year contract that promises to keep him at the club until the end of the 2022/23 campaign on Friday 27th September 2019.

After a difficult start at Tottenham, the French international has become an important figure and has been rewarded for his emergence as a key player at Tottenham with a new four-year contract, the club confirmed.

“I’m very proud to sign a new deal with the club that means they believe in me and the club is happy with what I’m doing. Hopefully, I can give my best to the club for a long time and hopefully we win a trophy together” he told the club’s official website.

Sissoko, 30, joined Spurs from Newcastle United in 2016 for a then club-record fee and has steadily won over many of his detractors following a difficult debut season. The France international made just 23 Premier League starts in his first two seasons at the club, with transfer rumors often linking him to an exit. But 27 of his 29 Premier League outings in the 2018/19 campaign were from the start, while his all-action displays in midfield were also a major contributor in Spurs’ run to the Champions League final.

He has remained a key figure for Pochettino at the start of this campaign, lining up for all six of their top-flight matches and it’s just prudent for Tottenham Hotspur to hand him a new contract.
