Murder of female police: More officers dispatched to Tamale

The Police Headquarters has dispatched a combined team of officers from the criminal investigations, Intelligence and National Operations Departments to Tamale to investigate the murder of a Police Woman, Agartha Nana Nabin, at a snap check duty point on the Kumbungu road in Tamale Tuesday night.

At about 1;45pm on Tuesday 30th July, occupants of a saloon car, all of them believed to be armed and dressed in a military -like -uniform, did not obey the signal of Police officers at a snap check point on the Kumbungu road in Tamale.

Instead, they shot and killed a Police women who signaled them to stop, after which they bolted.

All Regional Commanders have therefore been directed to put in extra measures to ensure the safety of the officers they deploy for duties and that of the general public.

Again, on the instructions of the acting IGP, James Oppong-Boanuh, the Northern Regional Commander has appointed a family liaison officer to liaise with the family of the deceased officer and offer counseling service to the family and the surviving officers of the crime.

Meanwhile, the police Administration is offering a reward for ¢10,000 to any person who gives credible information that will lead to their arrest.

Persons with information about the suspected criminals are also encouraged to inform the nearest Police or through the following police emergency numbers: 0299200331, 191 and 18555.
