The Ghana Police Service has confirmed media reports that the Menzgold Boss, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1, has been arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A statement issued by the Ghana Police service, said they were informed of the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah by Emirati Officials based in Dubai on Sunday, January 13.
The statement which was signed by Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu said, Ghanaian officials have visited NAM1 in the custody of Dubai Police.
The statement further said engagements with the Dubai authorities on the next step have commenced and the police admisnistration is assuring the public that due process will be followed.
The clarification from the Ghana Police has laid to rest speculations on whether or not NAM 1 has been arrested.
Meanwhile, a government delegation is to visit UAE to pursue his extradiction.
