The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has extended felicitations to the people of the area, ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

According to him, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ is unique and must therefore bring peace and tranquillity among the good people of Manhyia South and beyond.

In a message, Dr Prempeh, who is also the Minister of Education, said that there was the need for the people to use the yuletide to foster unity and togetherness, which are much-needed for the development of the area.

“Let us endeavour to use the festivities marking the birth of Jesus Christ for sober reflection of what we have done in the past and what we intend doing in the future,’’ he said.

He said that the peaceful nature of the good people of Manhyia South should be sustained, irrespective of divergent positions of the people on various issues.

Dr Prempeh said that, as the servant of the people, he would continue to offer his best at all times.

“I am your humble servant and all that I think of is to bring development in all forms to Manhyia South and I promise not to turn against the constituency, whether in rain or shine,’’ he said.

“On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, I wish each of us best of luck and blessings. Let us continue to be each other’s keeper and move forward as one people and look into the future with hope,’’ he said.
