Nations FC’s debut in continental football has ended after a 1–1 draw with Mali’s FC Diarra in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie at Accra Sports Stadium.
FC Diarra progressed 2–1 on aggregate after winning the first leg 1–0 in Bamako.
The Ghana FA Cup holders controlled much of the return match and created several promising chances, but FC Diarra goalkeeper Yakouba Diallo repeatedly denied them.
Nations FC finally broke through in the 80th minute when Ouedraogo Fatahou scored, but the goal was not enough to overturn the first-leg deficit.
The result means Ghana will have no club in the group stage of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup. Nations FC now turn their attention to domestic football after their relegation from the Ghana Premier League, with the club set to compete in the Division One League.
