Former Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Dr. Michael Kpessah Whyte has once again been unsuccessful in his bid to represent the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Shai Osudoku constituency as a parliamentary candidate.

He could not defeat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Linda Ocloo at the party’s parliamentary primaries held Saturday.

Linda Ocloo polled 825 votes while Dr. Whyte had 263 votes.

Another aspirant, David Assumeng also managed with 28 votes.

Kpessah Whyte first contested Mrs. Ocloo in June 2016 but lost to her in a by-election to choose a parliamentary candidate when Mrs. Ocloo’s husband, Desmond William Ocloo, died in a tragic accident at Juaso in the Ashanti Region in March 2016 shortly after he was elected.

She went ahead to win the parliamentary polls in the December 2016 general elections.
