Former MP for Tamale Central Inusah Fuseini says the party’s promises of good governance is evident in how the party is dealing with allegations of vote-buying in the recently ended NDC Ayawaso East primaries.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on Wednesday,February 11, 2026, the member of the NDC’s Ayawaso East Investigative Committee cautioned that failure to properly deal with issues such as vote buying and inducement in party primaries could erode public confidence and encourage corruption in the infant stages of the party’s hierarchy

“The electorate gave NDC the power to govern this country on the promise that we will do things differently, that difference should extend to our internal operations, internal matters in the party.” He stated.

This comes on the back of vote-buying allegations in the NDC Ayawaso East primaries which circulated the media and sparked controversial debates amongst electorates and civil society organizations.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) set up a three-member committee spearheaded by veteran politician Kofi Totobi Quakyi to investigate allegations of vote buying during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries and released findings that proved some candidates were involved in the vote-buying practice. Hence the party is putting in measures to curb such practices which will stop corruption at the roots of the party.
