New ECT machines for Accra, Ankaful and Pantang Mental Hospitals

The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has presented three Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) machines to the Mental Health Authority, to mark its 35th anniversary.

The Regional Overseer, ICGC, Rev. Anthony Cudjoe, said the church found it necessary to donate the machines as its social responsibility towards saving lives, adding that it is the responsibility of all, to contribute to national development and support the needy in society.

“ICGC committed to the purchase of three Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) machines, for each of the nation’s three psychiatric hospitals. The machines have successfully arrived.”

“The equipment would be moved to the Accra, Ankaful and Pantang Mental Health Institutions for treatment to begin,” he added.

Chief Executive, Mental Health Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei, gave the assurance that the machines would be utilised properly.
