A Beneficial Ownership Register will be activated in the country next year to help owners of companies.
The Register will put Ghana in a strategic position to fight money laundering, illicit financial flows, corruption, organised crime among other things.
This was announced at a training programme on Beneficial Ownership for officials of the Registrar General’s Department.
The Registrar General, Mrs. Jemima Oware said the Department’s e-register software will be upgraded to track down real owners of companies.
