It brought together representatives from the 15 Municipal and Districts offices of the NHIS in the region.

Since the inception of the MHIS in 2003, it has been challenged, administratively and financial regarding claims procession, registration and renewal of membership identity cards.

This year’s anniversary celebration is monumental, as the President of the Republic of Ghana; Nana Akufo-Addo launched the NHIS’s innovative technology platform e-renewal and registration using mobile phone with the short code *929#.

The short code, from now on is available and accessible to anyone with just a mobile phone.

This has digested the operational difficulties, the NHIS has encountered over the years.

The NHIS has tried and tested the new digital mobile platform in some regions across the country and it has proven successful.

Upper East Regional Director of NHIS Sabastian Alagpulinsah

In an interview with gbconlineghana, the Regional Director of NHIS Sebastian Alagpulinsah indicated that, with the e-renewal, it will help flash out all fraudulent practices that has associated with the scheme all these years saying it will also enable them to render the best services to the good people of the Upper East Region and the country as a whole.
