National Investment Bank PLC (NIB PLC) has commissioned a fleet of 17 brand-new operational vehicles as part of efforts to strengthen its operations, improve customer service delivery and support its ongoing transformation agenda.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, saw the bank unveil 10 Toyota Corolla saloon cars, five Nissan vehicles and two Toyota Fortuner 4×4 cross-country vehicles for use by staff across its operations.

Speaking at the event, the bank’s Chief Client Experience and Corporate Communications Officer, Mrs. Esther Agyeman Prempeh, said the acquisition demonstrates NIB’s continued commitment to providing quality service to customers.
She noted that the additional vehicles would enhance the bank’s operational efficiency and enable staff to serve customers more effectively. “This is just to show our commitment and continuous support towards our service to our customers. We believe with these additional vehicles, it will help us enhance service delivery,” she said.

Chief Executive Officer of NIB PLC, Chief Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria, described the commissioning as a significant milestone in the bank’s transformation journey.
According to him, the bank had not purchased vehicles for operational use since 2016. Upon assuming office in February 2025, he said he chose not to procure an official vehicle for himself and encouraged members of the management team to do the same, opting instead to prioritise investments that would benefit the institution as a whole.

He explained that management secured board approval for a staff vehicle loan facility while focusing the bank’s direct investment on operational assets that would improve service delivery.
“The vehicles we are commissioning today are not for our own consumption; they are for the business of National Investment Bank,” he stated.
Dr. Zakaria said the vehicles would improve the mobility of relationship managers, retail banking teams, branch managers, operational managers, technical officers and other staff, enabling them to respond more quickly to customer needs, strengthen business relationships, improve supervision and expand the bank’s presence into new markets.
He added that beyond their operational value, the vehicles represent the bank’s renewed image as a modern, responsive and forward-looking financial institution committed to restoring public confidence.
“The true measure of this investment will not be the number of kilometres travelled but the value we create for our customers and the confidence we continue to restore in National Investment Bank,” he said.

Board Member of NIB PLC and Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Constituency, Dr. Ekow Quainoo, commended the bank’s leadership for what he described as the remarkable transformation taking place within the institution.
He also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for supporting the recapitalisation and revitalisation of the bank, saying the renewed investment had positioned NIB on a path towards becoming a globally competitive financial institution.

Dr. Quainoo urged staff assigned the vehicles to ensure they are properly maintained and used for their intended purpose to improve customer service and enhance the bank’s competitiveness.
Deputy Managing Director of NIB PLC, Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah, welcomed the acquisition, saying staff were confident the vehicles would support business growth, improve customer engagement and contribute to increasing deposits.
“We believe these vehicles will help us in increasing our deposits, exciting our customers and maintaining the legacy established by our CEO,” he said.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the bank, Deputy Managing Director for Business and Operations, Madam Belinda Boamah, assured management and the board that the vehicles would be used responsibly to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
She pledged that the investment would contribute to improved profitability and strengthen the bank’s long-term performance.
The commissioning of the new fleet forms part of NIB PLC’s broader strategy to modernise its operations, improve service delivery and reinforce its position as one of Ghana’s leading development and commercial banks.
