The Ghana Football Association has yet to make any approach to Tom Saintfiet regarding the vacant Black Stars head coach position.

Sources close to the association confirm no approach has been made to the 61-year-old, who is not on the current shortlist of candidates under discussion to replace Otto Addo.

Saintfiet, renowned for his extensive work across African football including stints with national teams in Liberia, Namibia, and Ethiopia, had been casually mentioned in some media circles.

However, insiders reveal the GFA has held zero talks or exploratory discussions with him, quashing rumors early.

Instead, the association is laser-focused on other options as it races to appoint a new coach before the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana’s recent international struggles, which prompted Addo’s exit, have heightened the pressure for a swift decision.

GFA officials prioritize candidates with proven international credentials and the ability to instill a distinct tactical identity quickly.

Saintfiet’s organizational expertise with emerging football nations, while respected, does not align with their current plans.

All eyes now turn to high-profile alternatives as the search intensifies to restore Black Stars’ confidence.

An official announcement is anticipated once negotiations with top targets conclude.
