Former Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle has resigned as Zambia women’s national team coach, citing deep management flaws and structural woes in a bombshell statement.

The Swiss tactician, who swapped Ghana for the Copper Queens role last year, confirmed she’s stepped away entirely, skipping Zambia’s upcoming FIFA Series in Brazil. Her move spotlights ongoing turmoil in African women’s football administrations.

Hauptle laid out a 10-point blueprint to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for boosting long-term success, but key fixes, like administrative efficiency, technical backing, planning, and women’s game investment, stay ignored.

“As leader and role model with a clear attitude, I want to step out with a transparent statement,” she declared, demanding “100% commitment” over half-measures. Despite steering Zambia to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (a World Cup qualifier), she called her tenure “challenging” under new FAZ bosses.
