The Northern Regional Police CID is investigating a suspected case of kidnapping involving a 21 year old victim. The victim who is a resident of Poloyafong in Tamale went missing and all efforts to trace her proved futile.

The Northern Regional Police, Superintendent Kwabena Otuo Acheampong, revealed that the victim is suspected to have been kidnapped.

Meanwhile, a relative of the victim told GBC’s Radio Ghana, that messages have been received from the victim’s phone, indicating that she is in the hands of kidnappers.

It also revealed that the victim was kidnapped in 2015, but managed to escape. The family is appealing to the public to support efforts at finding her.

This is the second time in several months, that a kidnapping case is happening in Tamale.

In December last year, a young woman was allegedly kidnapped for several weeks. She was later found in Navrongo with signs of rape.
