Baba Ali Yusif, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East, has pledged to focus on human development, youth empowerment, and the promotion of the constituency’s profile ahead of the March 3, 2026 by-election.

At a debate organised by the Concerned Nima Citizens Foundation, Yusif highlighted his commitment to uplifting residents through education, skills development, and community-focused initiatives. He emphasized the importance of marketing Ayawaso East to attract opportunities and recognition beyond the constituency.

“I am proud of my community and I want to market Nima to the outside world,” Yusif said. “Human development is my topmost priority. We want to inspire our youth, provide them with opportunities, and ensure the community thrives socially and economically.”

In an interaction with the media on the sidelines, Yusif expressed confidence in his ability to connect with voters. “My candidature resonates well with the people. Despite historical voting trends, I believe the support I am building will help me win,” he said.

Yusif, who holds a master’s degree from the Accra Business School and said his experience and youthful energy position him to address the unique challenges of Ayawaso East, including youth unemployment, infrastructure, and local development.

The Ayawaso East by-election, scheduled for March 3, 2026, features candidates from the NDC, NPP, LPG, and independent contenders competing for the parliamentary seat.
