NPP Presidential Aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong has cast his vote in the Assin Central constituency, Central Region, as the party’s high-stakes primary unfold nationwide.

He urged delegates with a rallying cry: “Cast your vote and let your voice be heard!” signaling his determination in the race for the flagbearer slot against heavyweights like Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Agyapong joins four other contenders vying for the NPP’s nod ahead of the 2028 general elections: former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong, ex-Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.

The lineup promises a fierce battle for the party’s leadership mantle. Over 211,000 accredited delegates are exercising their franchise at more than 300 polling centers across Ghana, with party officials and security agencies overseeing the process to maintain peace and transparency.

Voting kicked off early, drawing keen interest from supporters in key strongholds like Assin Central, Agyapong’s home turf.

The atmosphere buzzes with anticipation as delegates queue up, weighing candidates’ visions for the party’s future. Agyapong’s bold presence underscores his underdog appeal, blending business acumen with political fire.

Polling stations close later today, paving the way for immediate counting and collation at local centers. Party faithful await results that could reshape Ghana’s opposition landscape.
