The New Patriotic Party parliamentary primary in the Asawase Constituency came off despite an injunction by an aggrieved aspirant, Manaf Ibrahim.

He went to court following a decision by the party to allow one of the aspirants to contest unopposed.

Constituency and Regional executives of the NPP said they were not served with the court order.

Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, who contested unopposed called on NPP members in Asawase to unite and work hard to secure the parliamentary seat in the 2020 general elections.

The MCE will represent the NPP as its parliamentary candidate for the constituency after he went through a popular acclamation process.

A representative from the NPP Regional party’s office, Samuel Nsosakia Abagna led the exercise after 867 delegates from 169 polling stations and 10 electoral areas in the constituency gathered at the St Pauls Church premises for the event.

Alhaji Seidu speaking to CNR after the process urged all to bury their differences and work towards capturing the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress.
