Former Campaign Manager, Policy Advisor and former Energy Minister Mr. Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has submitted and filed his nomination to lead the NPP into the 2024 general election. During the submission Mr. Boakye Agyarko, said his contribution to the party since 1992 and personal leadership qualities and credentials put him in a good stead to lead the NPP into victory in 2024. He, however, appealed to the executives of the party to ensure that all candidates play by the rules of the elections for a free and fair internal process.

On 26th May, Mr. Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko picked nomination forms to contest for the Presidential Primaries of the New Patriotic Party, NPP. After almost one month of touring the country and interacting with party delegates, Mr. Agyarko took his filled-out nomination forms to the NPP Headquarters for submission to the Presidential Elections Committee and paid his filing fees. He was met by some enthusiastic supporters amid singing and chanting Mr. Agyarko as the best to lead the NPP into the 2024 general election.

After going through the nomination forms to ensure the right delegates from all the sixteen regions endorsed it, as well as the bankers draft, a member of the Presidential Elections Committee Mr Evans Nimako, received the forms and handed over a copy of the constitution and receipt of payment to Mr. Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko. This signified that his process was completed.

Mr. Evans Nimako asked the aspirant to play by rules and regulations governing the process.

Mr. Agyarko said he has played the game fairly and expects the same from other contestants.

Addressing the supporters after the submission process, the former Energy Minister said his previous record at the energy ministry shows he can deliver and fix Ghana’s economic challenges.

The date of the submission of the nomination and filing for NPP Presidential Primaries was scheduled to end on Saturday 24th July, 2024.
