Parliament receives body of late Ayawso West Wuogon MP

The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Aaron Mike Oquaye will at 2pm Today, Friday, receive the remains of the late Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko at the forecourt of the House.

The National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, outlining details of the programme for the funeral of the late MP, said the remains will then be moved to the NPP Headquarters at 2:30pm where party executives, officials and members will pay their last respects to the affable late MP.

“From the party Headquarters, we will drive to the NPP Greater Accra regional party office which he, the late MP donated to the party so that the regional party officers will also bid him fare well. By 3pm, we will move the mortal remains to the constituency office in Ayawaso West Wuogon, in Dzorwulu to enable constituency officers also pay their last respects.

And then we will drive the remains through Abelemkpe through Tetteh Quarshie , through Okponglo to Bawaleshie and then American House after which he will finally be driven to Odumase Krobo for the funeral proper’’ Mr. Awuku said on an Accra based radio, “Okay FM”.

“Today is a very difficult day for the party and tomorrow is even going to be more difficult for us as a party, but the covenant keeping God will keep His covenant with us’’. Mr. Sammi Awuku has said.

Last night, The New Patriotic Party (NPP) held a vigil for the MP.
Mr. Agyarko died on November 21, 2018, in the United States of America.
The final funeral rites and burial of the late MP will be held at the Zimmerman Presbyterian Church at Odumase-Krobo, his hometown, Eastern region.
The family have scheduled his funeral for January 25 and 26, 2019.
There will be a family gathering on January 25, 2019 to be followed by a pre-burial service on Saturday, January 26 at the Zimmerman Presbyterian Church.
He will finally be laid to rest at the Presbyterian Cemetery at Labour, Odumase-Krobo.
Mr. Awuku extended the party’s invitation to the generality of the Ghanaian people to mourn with them in these trying moments, in order to give the late MP a befitting burial.
EARLY LIFE:
Emmanuel Kwabena Acheampong Kyeremateng Agyarko was born on December 10, 1957, at Kumasi in the Ashanti region, to Kwasi Agyarko of Jamase, Ashanti and Jane Ladza Padi of Odumase-Krobo, both of blessed memory.
He was the last born of five children.
Emmanuel Agyarko began his formal education at Queen Anne’s Day Nursery, Ashanti New Town and from there went on to K.O Methodist Primary School, also in Kumasi for his basic primary education.
He was enrolled in the Kwame Nkrumah University Primary School to prepare him for his Common Entrance Examination and upon passing the exams, he went to Prempeh College for his secondary school education.
After obtaining his Ordinary level (‘O’ level) Certificate, he proceeded to the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) for his sixth form education where he obtained his Advanced Level Certificate (‘A’ levels).
Kyeremanteng Agyarko, gained admission to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to study pharmacy.
Upon graduating at KNUST, he did his national service at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and taught pharmacology at the nursing school.
He then went on to start and operate his own pharmacy business, VITAPHARMA.
His funeral has been slated for today, Friday, January 25, 2019 and Saturday January 26, 2019 at Krobo Odumase in the Eastern Region.
