In fact, one of the coup d’etats in Ghana there were only eight (8) people with one amour car”.

He added, in today’s world you have cyber that could shut down a whole government system;  you have terrorism that could destabilize the State; you have destabilization of a nation that is influenced by external people with an agenda to have a regime changed. “So there are various dynamism of destabilizing a state.’’ He said.

According to the Fraud and security consultant, it is necessary for the government to provide the security agencies with the right resources to be able to protect the nation against internal and external attacks.

He said ‘’What is important is that, As a state we must be pro-active, recruit the right people, give them the right resources to secure our land, territorial waters and sovereignty as a nation, this is because all governments all over the world are faced with all manner of threats.’’

Background

In September 2019, the National Security, the Police Service, the Ghana Armed Forces and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in a joint operation raided the Citadel Hospital located in Alajo, a suburb of Accra.

During the raid, security officials retrieved a cache of newly factory-made assault rifles and explosives from a room.

The owner of the Citadel Hospital, Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, Dornyah “Ezor” Kafui, a local weapon manufacturer and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu, freight manager were arrested by state security agencies for engaging in plotting to destabilize the country.

The three persons made their appearance before an Accra Magistrates Court on Thursday and were slapped with five charges including conspiracy to manufacture arms and ammunition without lawful authority, possession of explosives and firearms without lawful excuse.
