President John Dramani Mahama has received a delegation from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following the tragic loss of eight government officials and military personnel in the recent helicopter crash that occurred at Adansi Akrofuom.

The victims, including five government officials and three crew members, were enroute to Obuasi for an official programme when the accident happened.
The delegation from the Manhyia Palace, conveyed Otumfuo’s heartfelt condolences to the President, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the families of the all the eight victims.



The visit was a gesture of solidarity and shared grief from the Asante Kingdom during this period of national mourning.
President Mahama expressed his gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the show of support, describing it as a deeply appreciated mark of unity in difficult times.
Meanwhile a state funeral for the victims is slated for Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Black Star Square.
