Photo Highlights: Final farewell to Dr. Murtala and Alhaji Muniru after tragic helicopter crash

Dr. Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed were laid to rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the new Military Cemetary at Tse-Addo in Accra.

The two were among eight compatriots who tragically lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash that shook the nation.

In line with Islamic traditions, the Environment Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, the Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, were laid to rest on Sunday, August 10, following Jannaza prayers.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu, led special Janazah prayers for the late Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed.

The ceremony was held at the Forecourt of the State House.
