The Accra Regional Police Command has impounded 130 motor bikes in and around Tudu, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Ministries, UTC, Kimbu and Tema Station for breaching the social distancing rules.

As part of measures to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus, motor riders are banned from picking a pillion rider in order to observe the social distancing Protocol.

Despite President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s directive that Ghanaians should maintain social distancing after lifting the lockdown, some motor riders had stationed and soliciting for passengers and were arrested for operating illegal businesses.

The exercise will be sustained and extended across the Accra Police region.
