Abura-Dunkwa DISEC locked up in meeting over disturbances in area

The Central Regional Minister, Regional Police command and the Abura-Dunkwa District Security Council are in a crunch DISEC meeting over disturbances in Abura-Dunkwa over the weekend.

Already, there is heavy security presence after angry youth burnt down five houses to retaliate the alleged killing of a security guard.

The houses set on fire belong to persons they suspect are responsible for the killing of the security guard.

The area has been in the news in the last few weeks after a linguist in the community and his wife were both beheaded by unknown assailants.

The youth of the town got hint that the murders may have been committed by some foreign nationals in the Zongo community.

Suspecting that the Police may not be doing enough about the situation, they stormed the community, torched houses and destroyed property.

The DISEC meeting is expected to assess the security situation and find a lasting solution to the crisis.
