Former National Chairman of the New Patrtiotic Party (NPP), Awentami Paul Afoko, has donated 400 bags of cement and GHS30,000 to support the completion of the party’s Volta Regional Headquarters.
The donation follows an appeal made by the Volta Regional Executives during Mr Afoko’s visit to the region a week ago. Through the Regional Treasurer, the executives sought support to pave the compound of their ultra-modern Regional Secretariat. They cited persistent muddy conditions during rainfall, a challeng expected to worsen with the onset of the rainy season.
Impressed by the initiative, Mr Afoko described the facility as the most impressive NPP-owned regional headquarters in the country and pledged what he termed his “widow’s mite” to support the project.

The items were presented on his behalf by former Hohoe Constituency Chairman, Mr David Apugiba with support from the Secretary of the Council of Elders and other leading party members.
Receiving the donation, Volta Regional Treasurer, Mr Wisdom Gakpo expressed gratitude to Mr Afoko for the timely intervention. He called on other party faithful to emulate the gesture and contribute towards the completion f the project.
“We thank Mr Awentami Paul Afoko for this timely support and urge others to emulate his example as we collectively seek support to house the party ahead of the 2028 polls,” Mr Gakpo said.

Mr Afoko, who served as NPP National Chairman from 2014 to 2015, is seeking a return to the position on a “3R” blueprint: Reunite, Rebuild, Recapture.
