President Akufo-Addo has extended his congratulations to the winners of the parliamentary primaries held by the New Patriotic Party on Saturday, January 27 2023.

In a statement released on Sunday, January 28, the President expressed satisfaction, stating, “We have elected a good blend of experienced and youthful parliamentary candidates whom I warmly congratulate.”

He exhibited confidence that these elected candidates would play a pivotal role in “helping secure a majority for the NPP in the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic and aiding in the return of an NPP presidential candidate into office on 7th January 2025.”

President Akufo-Addo extended warm congratulations to the rank and file of the party, acknowledging the collective efforts of various stakeholders, including the national, regional, constituency, electoral area, and polling station executives of the party, the Electoral Commission, the security services, and the media for a job well done.

He urged those who did not emerge victorious in the election to adhere to the party tradition and support the winners, stating, “today’s losers can be tomorrow’s winners.” The President emphasized the need for unity, especially if the party aims to “Break the Eight,” expressing his confidence in the possibility of this feat.

To conclude, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of staying true to tradition, uniting firmly behind the excellent presidential candidate and formidable parliamentary candidates, and delivering another resounding victory for the party.

This, he believes, will continue the process of bringing progress and prosperity to every part of the country, an endeavor on which the nation is already fully embarked.
