Swearing-in of President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, on January 7, 2021, will happen before Parliament and within the Precincts of Parliament House.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Information Pius Enam Hadzide at a media briefing in Accra.
The change in venue for the Swearing in comes after Parliament made a passionate appeal to President Akufo-Addo that they want subsequent swearing-in of Presidents of the Republic to happen in Parliament house and before Parliament in accordance with Ghanaian laws and international practice.
Mr. Hadzide said the Inauguration Sub Committee is working with Parliament to ensure a successful and COVID Compliant inauguration.
On attendance and participation, Mr. Hadzide said Parliament will provide more information in due course.
