The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has visited former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after winning the party’s 2026 presidential primaries.

On Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia visited former President John Agyekum Kufuor to express his gratitude for his guidance and longstanding mentorship during his political journey. In separate engagements, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo congratulated Dr. Bawumia on his victory and pledged his support for efforts to heal divisions within the party. Mr. Akufo-Addo said he would commit his energy to strengthening the NPP’s base and restoring public confidence as the flagbearer prepares to lead the party into the next national polls.
