MP for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda has been granted self recognisance bail after he was invited Tuesday on grounds that his body guards caused violence at one of the polling centres during the just ended limited voters registration exercise.
Director General of Police Public Relations, ACP David Eklu told GBC’s Ibrahim Kwateng on Current Affairs Programme, ‘Behind the News’, that Mr. Dauda was invited because he aided and abetted a crime which is against the laws of Ghana.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye, has cautioned the police against stepping on the Parliamentary immunity of MPs in such arrests.
The Speaker was commenting on the arrests of the Asutifi South MP.
