A community based NGO in Ashaiman, SYPPA has called on the Electoral Commission, EC to address concerns of voters in the community before the Biometric Voter Registration.

SYPPA says after a survey it conducted, majority of the people do not have the Ghana Card, passports and other documents required to be captured onto the new voters register.

The survey is part of an election project supported by STAR -Ghana Foundation titled, ”Ashaiman -Community Actions Against Violence in Elections 2020”.

In an interview with GBC’s Rebecca Ekpe, Project Coordinator, Freeman Tsekpo said for Ghana to maintain its record of conducting credible elections, it is important for duty bearers to heed to concerns of the people .

On COVID-19, SYPPA says education should be intensified in Ashaiman and more Personal Protective Equipment , such as nose masks should be made available to the people.

On security, SYPPA says daily wage earners in Ashaiman are appealing for a security beef, as the area is notorious for violence during elections.
