The Electoral Commission (EC), has suspended its planned compilation of a new Voters Register because of the coronavirus.
It was initially scheduled for the 18th of April.
The EC’s Director of Electoral Services, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, said the Commission is collaborating with health experts to decide on a more favourable date depending on the prevalence of the virus.
Speaking on GBC’s ‘Behind the News’, Dr. Quaicoe said the EC consulted health professionals on the COVID-19 and subsequently had to resort to suspending the exercise.
Touching on the walk out of some political parties, he said that did not affect the meeting in anyway.
