The Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, says Parliament will invite the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensa, if there are any challenges with processes towards the upcoming elections.

He said Parliament is so far satisfied with the electoral arrangements and see no point in summoning Mrs. Mensa, adding that should the House identify challenges with the processes later, it will invite the EC to brief it on the development.

The Minority has raised concerns with the electoral processes and demanded that Officials of the EC be summoned to the House to respond to the concerns raised.

The EC in June, appeared before the Special Budget Committee of Parliament to respond to questions relating to the compilation of the new Voters’ Register ahead of the December 7 polls.

The Minority was however not satisfied with the answer the EC gave at that meeting.
