NDC General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey.

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Kwetey, says it is normal for some section of the party to be unhappy with the changes made at its hierarchy in Parliament.

Speaking with host, George Sappor on GBC NEWS Current Affairs program ‘FOCUS’, Mr. Kwetey agreed that some level of consultation should have been done with the Caucus before the move, but, added that ”the party is building on the past to improve the future”.

The new NDC General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey urged party faithful to ”embrace and appreciate the change”.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the new leadership of Johnson Asiedu Nketia has made some changes in the leadership in Parliament as MPs prepare to begin the third session of the eight Parliament of the fourth Republic slated for Tuesday, 7th February, 2023.

A letter signed by the newly elected General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey dated 23rd January, 2023 and copied to the Speaker of Parliament has it that, the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency in the Central Region, and the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, Cassiel Ato Forson, has replaced Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority Leader.

MP for Ellembelle, Armah Kofi Buah, has also replaces Ketu North MP James Klutse Avedzi as the new Deputy Minority Leader while MP for Adaklu, Kwame Agbodza also replaces Asawase MP Muntaka Mubarak as the Minority Whip.
