Following FIFA’s admonition that Ghana withdraws the petition to liquidate the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Radio Ghana went onto the streets of Accra to elicit views of football fans on the threat from the world football governing body.

FIFA, in a statement warned that if by Monday, the 27th of this month, the liquidation process is not withdrawn, Ghana will be suspended with immediate effect.

The suspension will only be lifted when the petition is withdrawn and it is given a written proof.

Regardless of the threat from FIFA, most of the people who spoke to Radio Ghana were all in support of government’s resolution to dissolve the GFA to rid it of corrupt practices.

Lecturer at GIMPA and Sports analyst, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare is meanwhile asking Government to tread cautiously in the attempt to resolve the football crisis that has hit the country.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Dr. Ofosu Asare said resolving the crisis should not result in a ban by FIFA, as many are calling for.
