Ghana’s Constitution attributed to the high level of corruption – PPP’s Presidential Candidate

The Presidential Candidate for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Mrs. Brigitte Dzogbenuku said the reason why there is high level of corruption in the country was because of the constitution and how it was been drafted but there are amendment in the constitution which can be used to attack corruption.

“Both NPP and NDC have been in power since 1992 constitution was drafted, it has been maintained and reviewed yet people go against it and nothing has been done to curb corruption,” She said.

Speaking on ‘Focus’, aired on GBCNEWS, Mrs. Brigitte said the Parliamentarians who are supposed to check on the Executive are the same people involved in decision-taking which is not helping the fight against corruption in the country.

Mrs. Brigitte said when given the mandate, her party, PPP, will make all the arms of the government independent so that they can prosecute anyone who falls short of the law in the case of corruption.

”We will work with the Attorney General’s Office to deal with anyone who does not abide by the rules and the regulation of the law,” She said.

She also promised to allow Ghanaians to vote on DCE’s and MMDCE’s.
