Government is considering building one of the proposed 16 Model Senior High Schools in the country at Boli in the Wa Central constituency of the Upper West Region.

Speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of the area as part of his campaign tour of the region, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said the construction of the senior high school there will make secondary education more accessible to the people.

The infant Bono East Region can be described as a creation of the current NPP administration, which promised to create new Regions and has delivered on that promise.

The President and his entourage, which included the Bono East Regional Minister, Kofi Amoakohene, the Minister for Agriculture, Akoto Osei and the Minister for Lands and Forestry, started the Bono East Regional tour from its easternmost corner at Kajaji, the Sene East District Capital.

He was greeted on arrival at a durbar in his honour by hordes of ecstatic fans who cheered themselves hoarse.

In attendance at the durbar were Chiefs, Government Officials, and NPP Supporters among others.

One of the greatest challenges confronting the people of the area is the uncompleted Kajaji- Kwame Danso-Atebubu Road.  This road negatively affects almost all aspects of life and so the Kyidomhene of the Nkomi Traditional Area, Nana Osere Krunkum, who spoke on behalf Chiefs of the area, was bound to mention it in his address.

He urged the President to tackle it to forge a great friendship between the people of Nkomi and the Government of the NPP

He also mentioned Education, Health and the local market as areas where Government’s help is required. He also called for the release of some of the Government acquired lands in the area to the Chiefs to give Agriculture a boost.

In his address, President Akufo-Addo, announced that a new hospital is to be built for the Sene District, while under the One Million Dollars Per Constituency Project it will also get a new market.

President Akufo-Addo also noted that the Sene and Pru Constituencies need to try the NPP after sticking to the NDC for decades without any tangible benefits.

Also on the first day of his tour of Bono East, the President commissioned a warehouse at Kwame Danso in Sene West, which was built under the One District one Warehouse Policy. Also in Atebubu, the President cut the sod for the Atebubu Amanten Highway, which is still in a very bad shape although as far back as 2009, the then President John Atta Mills cut the sod for the same project.

The ID1F is a key Policy of the Nana Addo Dankwa Administration and whilst in Atebubu-Amanten, the President took time off to inspect the Amanten Agro-Processing Factory.  The Project which is about 97 percent complete will process Cassava for export.
