‎The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that at least 3,000 mothers will benefit every year from a newly commissioned Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Juapong.

‎The facility, which was completed in six months through a partnership with the Engage Africa Now Foundation, is expected to improve maternal and child health care in the area. To make the clinic fully functional, Mr. Ablakwa donated all the needed medical equipment.

‎The MP in a Facebook post on Sunday August 31, 2025 described the project as a major step toward reducing maternal and child health challenges in North Tongu. He said the facility will ensure safe deliveries and better health outcomes for mothers and children.

‎Mr. Ablakwa also used the opportunity to outline several approved development projects for the constituency. These include the construction of the Aveyime-Asutsuare Road, Juapong-Podoe-Abutia Road, Sege-Battor-Mepe Road, and the Volivo–Dorfor Adidome Bridge over the Volta River. Additionally, new dormitories, dining halls, laboratories, and teachers’ bungalows will be built across all five Senior High Schools in the area.

He further disclosed that his office will cover the cost for all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in North Tongu to check their results for free.

‎Mr. Ablakwa assured his constituents that North Tongu will continue to enjoy its fair share of development under President Mahama’s Reset Agenda.

  1. Good job @Hon. Ablakwa. You really have your constituents at heart. God bless you. But, where exactly in Juapong is this facility located? I come from Juapong, Avedzi specific but now reside at Dunkwa-On-Offin. I will visit home soon and I want to visit the place as well. Thank you
