I am determined to keep Ghana’s reputation as beacon of democracy – President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo says he is determined to consolidate Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa by ensuring that the forthcoming political campaign and elections are conducted in an atmosphere of peace.

The President stated this at the Jubilee House at a meeting with a delegation from the Ziavi Traditional Area in the Volta Region.

The delegation from the Ziavi Traditional Area thanked President Akufo-Addo for ensuring that Ziavi was elevated to a Traditional Council status. Over the years, they were under the authority of the Ho Traditional Council.

The delegation led by the President of the newly created Ziavi Traditional Council, Togbe Kwaku Ayim who added his voice for peaceful elections, made a number of appeals including the establishment of a factory under the IDIF to add value to the Ziavitutui coffee

President Akufo-Addo said there will positive response to their appeals as well as the need for a clean campaign.

The Ziavi Traditional Council presented a citation and decorated the President as a sign of appreciation for granting them a Council Status.
