The aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has appointed the Northern Regional Organiser, Alhaji Rashid Salifu (COP), as his Northern Sector Campaign Coordinator ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference in September. Felicia Tettey, former Second Vice Chairperson of the NPP in the Northern Region, will support the Northern Sector campaign.
The appointments were announced during Mr. Boadu’s engagement with NPP constituency executives from the Tamale Zone’s nine constituencies, part of his nationwide campaign tour. He noted that all previously appointed Regional, Constituency, and Area Coordinators remain unchanged.
The meeting drew strong endorsement from constituency chairmen across the Tamale Zone, with the Caucus Chairman declaring, on behalf of all eighteen Northern Region constituency chairmen, their unanimous support for Mr. Boadu’s bid.
Speaking under the theme “Bringing Back the Winning Ways of the NPP,” Mr. Boadu reaffirmed the NPP’s record of transformational achievements, including the NHIS, Free SHS, TVET expansion, School Feeding, Free Maternal Healthcare, Metro Mass Transit, Agenda 111, and the digitalisation agenda. He recalled that as General Secretary he helped deliver victories in 2016 and 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic headwinds.
Outlining his vision for 2028, Mr. Boadu pledged reforms including rebranding the party, strengthening internal election-security mechanisms, reinforcing constituency structures, and supporting the Flagbearer’s commitment to ten constituency-based appointments nationwide. He stressed that protecting ballots at polling stations would be central to his administration, and shared plans for reclaiming marginal constituencies through targeted, data-driven interventions. Mr. Boadu said the National Chairman’s office demands leadership that is fair, firm and fearless, and pledged to restore discipline, strengthen unity, and lead the NPP back to its winning tradition. He closed by calling on party members to remain united and focused on returning the NPP to government in 2028.
