Former member of parliament for Asin Central and a leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong has boldly stated that he cannot be intimidated, as he announced that he and his team are stepping back from a recent party’s ‘Thank You Tour’ due to safety concerns.

‎Speaking to the media, Mr. Agyapong revealed that threats to the safety of his team have forced him to pull out of future activities related to the tour.

‎“What happened yesterday, I want to pull out. My team and I want to pull out because lives are being threatened. I don’t think I can protect my team enough,” he said.

‎He emphasized that although Dr. Bawumia is the party’s flagbearer and he respects that position, it is best for him and his team to stay away from activities that may risk their safety. Despite the withdrawal, Agyapong stressed his commitment to party unity.

‎“I still call for unity in the party. This will not scare me to leave the party. We built the party from 1990 until now. Intimidation will not help them. I’m not somebody you can intimidate to leave the party,” he said firmly.

‎Mr. Agyapong also addressed reports that claimed his supporters were fighting over 2,000 Ghana cedis. He clarified that the amount was actually 1,000 cedis and blamed the incident on poor handling by event security.

‎He called for calm among supporters and urged party members to avoid spreading false information, warning that such actions only harm the unity they all desire.

‎“We should be apologetic, not defensive. False publications don’t help. Let’s calm down and focus on unity,” he concluded.
