Kenyans ‘owe’ late Kofi Annan- Nana Effah Apenteng

The Chief of Staff at the Secretariat of the Panel of Eminent African Personalities chaired by the late Kofi Annan to resolve Kenya’s post-election conflict, Nana Effah Apenteng, has described the late former Secretary General of the United Nations as one who hardly gave up on issues even when he was under threat and stress.
Nana Apenteng, who is also the Paramount Chief of Bompata in the Ashanti Region, said Kenyans owe the late Kofi Annan a great deal of gratitude for the prevailing peace and stability in their country.
He was sharing with GBC’s Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Nicholas Osei-Wusu his fond memories of the late global political icon.

Meanwhile, the remains of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan are expected Monday September 10 at the Kotoka International Airport for a three day state funeral.
It will be accompanied by his wife, children and some UN officials.
President Akufo-Addo will receive the body at a brief Military ceremony at the Kotoka International Airport.
The late former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, will be buried at the new military cemetery at Burma camp after a full State Funeral with Military honours on Thursday.
