With a firm pledge to adopt the bottom-up approach by ensuring that the grassroots benefit from his leadership, a former Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, has tossed his hat into the NDC flagbearer race.

He filed his nomination forms at the National Democratic Congress’s party headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.

Mr. Bonsu is the third hopeful to present his forms and pay the required ¢500,000 for that position.

This is the second time the former Chief Executive of Kumasi has taken such a step towards the party’s political race. In 2018, he announced his intention to join the race but dropped out before the primaries.

This time, Mr. Bonsu says, the NDC needs changes to make it more attractive to Ghanaians, and he has the trump card needed to bring the needed changes to the party.

Presidential hopeful, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, served as the MCE of Kumasi between 2013 and June 2016. The party leadership says the current race is a national agenda to provide the best candidate to field against its political opponents.

The General Secretary, Mr. Fifi Kwetey, added that the NDC Executives will provide a level playing field for all the candidates. Thursday, March 23, is the final day for all prospective candidates to return the nomination forms with the required fee.
