More than four hundred thousand teachers particularly in Private Schools will be laid off if they fail to write the licensure examination by September this year.

Government introduced the compulsory Teachers and Nurses Licensure Examinations last year to ensure all teachers and Nurses are licensed before they practice in both public and private schools.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Executive Director of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools Association, Enoch Jetuah, said the licensure examination for teachers is long overdue.
