President John Dramani Mahama has approved a major reorganisation of the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), including six appointments and reassignments.
The changes were announced on Tuesday evening by Presidential Spokesperson and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Under the reorganisation, Major (Rtd.) General William Ayamdo, a former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Operations.
Former National Security Coordinator Yaw Donkor has been reassigned as Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.
Mr Adamu Saaka has been appointed Director of Logistics and Transport, while Ms Faustina Effah-Boadi takes over as Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department.
DCOP (Rtd.) Peter Ndekugri has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
Meanwhile, ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, the Presidency said the changes formed part of efforts to strengthen the operations of the National Security Council Secretariat.
The appointments bring together officials with backgrounds in the military, intelligence and law enforcement sectors.
