The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has expressed concerns about the state of the voter register for the December 7 general elections.

Mr. Mahama made the point in the wake of the Electoral Commission’s seven-day Voter Exhibition exercise, which concluded on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024.

Mr. Mahama alleged discrepancies in the register that he believes need urgent attention from the EC. According to him, some registered voters have been transferred to different polling stations without their knowledge, while others have reported missing names from the register.

Speaking on the second day of his Greater Accra “Resetting Ghana” campaign tour, Mr. Mahama addressed supporters at Adjen Kotoku in the Amasaman Constituency, stressing that the NDC is committed to ensuring that the right procedures are followed.

He urged the Electoral Commission to correct the errors in the voter register before election day.

Mr. Mahama further emphasised that the NDC is a peace-loving party dedicated to maintaining peace before, during, and after the elections. However, he firmly stated that the NDC will not tolerate any unfair processes.
