President John Dramani Mahama will pay a three-day state visit to Zambia from 4 tFebruary 4 to 6, following an invitation from President Hakainde Hichilema.

He will be accompanied by the First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama.

During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks focused on strengthening diplomatic ties, boosting trade and investment, and deepening cooperation under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

A key part of the visit will be President Mahama’s address to Zambia’s National Assembly, where he is expected to outline Ghana’s vision for closer African integration. He will also meet members of the Ghanaian community living and working in Lusaka.

Both presidents will co-chair a Ghana–Zambia Business Dialogue aimed at promoting economic partnerships. The forum will allow Ghana to present its digital and financial technology services to Zambian businesses and public institutions.

The presidency says the visit reflects President Mahama’s support for improved transport links, expanded trade, and the free movement of people and goods across Africa, as well as faster implementation of the AfCFTA.

Before travelling to Zambia, President Mahama will visit Dubai from February 1 to 4 to attend the World Governments Summit, at the invitation of the ruler of the United Arab Emirates. He and his delegation will then continue to Zambia using an aircraft provided by the UAE ruler.
