The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, says the burden of proof on the illegality of the E-Levy lies on the three Minority members who are challenging the matter at the Supreme Court.

Speaking to Journalists in Parliament, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said Parliament is a House of records and per the records, the Bill was approved by a voice vote. He said upon the President assenting to the Bill, it came into operation and ”so the quest by some MPs for an injunction on its implementation is much ado about nothing”.

On the referral of three MPs to the Privileges Committee, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu maintained the stance that the recommendations by the Committee must hold and must not be brought before the entire House to vote.

The Majority Leader kicked against any motion for a rescission of the Speaker on the matter.
