The Chairman of The Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, and Member of Parliament, (MP), for Nwasan/Adoagyiri Frank Annoh Dompreh has reacted to his Ranking Member, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over the alleged purchase of a six bedroom residence being converted into a Chancery for Ghana’s new Mission in Norway.

According to the Chairman, Mr. Ablakwa has marred their working relations due to his interactions with the media on sensitive matters.

Speaking at a press conference on the acquisition of a property in Oslo, Norway for its future consulate, Mr. Dompreh said his colleague has over the years been leaking sensitive documents to the public.
According to him, the Ranking Member is beginning to show “Bad faith” in his dealings with members especially the majority on the committee.

He said none of the claims being made by Mr. Ablakwa on the acquisition of the said Norwegian property has not been entirely the case, adding that, “we think that, honourable Ablakwa whom we cooperated with, is becoming a nuisance in the Parliament of The Republic of Ghana. And it is high time he is told in his face that we mean business, we have work to do”.

The Vice Chairman of The Committee, Kweku Ampretwum said the owners of the property were asking for 12 million dollars but the country has not purchased the said property so the hue and cry is unfounded.

Government halts the purchase of Chancery for Ghana’s new Mission in Norway.

In his respond, MP for North Tongu and Ranking Member on The Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said, Frank Annoh Dompreh has no right, not even The Speaker to sideline him from Parliamentary business, “but it is not for him to decide on who should be here, who he can work with or which other MP to be elected all of that. He should get off, of his high horse”.

He said, “if exposing corruption, carrying out my oversight responsibilities, being diligent make me a nuisance, then they should prepare for more nuisance”.

“So I am glad that many leading members of even the NPP have gone on record publicly to commend my actions.” He said.
